Choosing the Best Management of Technology Master’s Degree for You

Technology management and business management have become increasingly aligned. Both are critical drivers of innovation and success for companies and organizations of all sizes.

Trying to select the best technology management degree program for you – one that matches your personal and career goals – can be a challenging task. But the rewards are worth the effort.

We welcome your interest in the University of Pennsylvania’s Executive Master’s in Technology Management (EMTM). Based in Penn Engineering and co-sponsored by the Wharton School – EMTM is one of the first programs to anticipate the need to prepare a different kind of technology leader who can cross the gap between technology and business.

Our student body represents experienced managers, IT professionals and engineers from technology sector organizations like Motorola, HP, Dell, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, IBM, Intel and SAP, as well as firms from the financial services, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods and other arenas, including Vanguard, SEI, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers, GSK, Merck, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pfizer, P&G, and W.L. Gore.

Typically, almost forty percent of our students already have masters degrees, including MBAs and masters in a range of technical areas; another 3- 5% have PhDs. One of the benefits that EMTM students and alumni say they value highly is the network of experts they are able to build and tap into across different industries and technologies.

We encourage you to do the research, evaluate your options, and pursue the type of program that best matches your goals and interests. This section offers an overview of several options and factors to consider in selecting a program that is the best fit for you.
