A Dynamic Interaction
Case 1: Technologist

Sunita Sisodia, MS, EMTM’05
Business Development Manager
Air Products & Chemicals, Inc.

Sunita held a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and a master's in environmental engineering. A senior process engineer at Air Products and Chemicals, she developed an interest in corporate business strategy and began thinking about expanding her career path, but she felt limited by her education. She chose EMTM to build on her engineering background with new management skills and exposure to other technologies. After completing her first year in the program, she was able to move into a new role as a marketing specialist. Other promotions followed, leading to her current position in commercial development where she draws on her strengths in both business and technology, reviewing venture firms with new emerging technologies that might fit with Air Products & Chemicals’ strategic vision.

"Since I had a heavy engineering background I really looked for a school that could balance technology and management. For me, Penn and EMTM had the perfect combination: the right curriculum, the right faculty and the right student body of professionals with a variety of experience. The program also allowed me the flexibility I needed to maintain a work life balance with two children at home."
